Robert Snodgrass’s West Ham United career has been a rollercoaster to say the least, but the Scotland international appears to finally be rounding into form at the London Stadium.

The 31-year-old, on a reported £40,000-per-week at the club [Source: Spotrac], spent last season on loan at Championship side Aston Villa after a falling out with former manager Slaven Bilic, and his Hammers career appeared destined for failure.

Since Manuel Pellegrini arrived in the summer though, and particularly in recent weeks, the former Hull City man has begun to put the pieces together in East London.

Indeed, his recent performances having given him undroppable status. Pellegrini will surely be pleased with the veteran winger’s renaissance, and his display in the 4-2 victory over Burnley on Saturday was the latest example of the strides Snodgrass has made this year.

The Scotsman has excelled since moving inside into a central position in a 4-1-4-1 formation. He was key in dictating the tempo on Saturday as he produced some lovely passes and continually threatened with scintillating dead ball delivery.

Not only is Snodgrass very underrated technically, he also puts in a big shift each and every time he takes the field for the Hammers.

Hard work is the number one thing that will get a player in the West Ham fans’ good books, and Snodgrass possesses that particular trait in spades.

He really is integral to Pellegrini’s team moving forward. Declan Rice and Pedro Obiang provide the combativeness in central midfield, while it’s up to Snodgrass to produce the incisiveness and attacking thrust in this Hammers side.

The turnaround he has authored at the London Stadium has been remarkable to witness, and he needs to continue his fine recent form if he is to remain in East London long term.
