West Ham United are poised to put an end to winger Sead Haksabanovoc’s loan deal at Malaga, according to exWHUemployee.

The club insider – who is a reliable source of Hammers news – revealed via the ‘West Ham Way’ podcast [33:03] that the 19-year-old is set to return from his temporary spell in Spain after appearing in just one game for Malaga this season.

The insider says on the podcast that the Irons are “disappointed” with how his stint in the Spanish second tier has not gone according to plan – adding that they are plotting to either offload him on a permanent basis or farm him out on loan once again.

OPINION

It is hard not to feel sorry for the likes of Haksabanovic, as he has argubly been treated unfairly during his time at Malaga. He was once tipped for great things at West Ham and this loan spell was meant to prepare him for bigger things, but the opposite now seems to have happened after only being handed one outing this term. This a waste of the youngster’s talents and it remains to be seen whether he would attract any interest in the New Year after such a lack of game time. There is the risk that nobody will want to take him on, a scenario which would mean West Ham would then be lumbered with him for the rest of the campaign. Fingers crossed that he does attract admirers in January, otherwise his career will just head in a downward spiral – and that would be a real shame.
