West Ham United midfielder Felipe Anderson has been included in Sky Sports pundit Danny Mills’ Premier League Team of the Week.

The Brazilian produced a sublime performance on Saturday as he struck late to ensure the Hammers came away with a share of the spoils in their 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town at the John Smiths’ Stadium.

It continued the former Lazio man’s recent run of fine form, following his brace in the 4-2 victory over Burnley the previous weekend.

Mills was left seriously impressed by the 25-year-old: “Felipe Anderson was very good for West Ham, earning them a point at Huddersfield,” he wrote on the Sky Sports website.

OPINION

Anderson is certainly in good company in Mills’ Team of the Week midfield. The Hammers playmaker was the only non-Manchester City star to make it into the midfield, snuggling next to Fernandinho, David Silva and Bernardo Silva after their derby day heroics on Sunday. For Anderson, though, Saturday’s game was another big step forward for his nascent West Ham career. After his brace against Burnley it was good to see the Brazilian continue to make a decisive impact in matches. That was the knock on him early in his Hammers career; he was playing well but wasn’t putting enough of a stamp on games respective to his talent. He seems to have resolved that issue of late and he was absolutely key on Saturday. It was his moment of quality that ensured a sub-par West Ham performance yielded something in terms of points. He should be happy with his efforts.
