BBC pundit Garth Crooks was mightily impressed once again by the display of West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson after the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Brazilian netted the Hammers’ only goal of the game, salvaging a point at the John Smith’s Stadium after falling behind in the sixth minute from a strike from Alex Pritchard – and according to the well-known pundit, Anderson has “developed a taste” for scoring goals.

He added that the Irons star spent most of the fixture in search of more goals, and that he was unlucky not to have earned himself his first hat-trick for the club.

“It became very clear to me in the early exchanges against Huddersfield that the Brazilian had developed a taste for scoring goals after his double against Burnley last weekend and so it proved against the Terriers,” he told BBC Sport.

“Anderson spent the entire game looking for goals and could have had a hat-trick. The one he settled for wasn’t bad either.”

OPINION

Crooks seems to be a big fan of West Ham’s record signing at the moment, as he also picked Anderson in his team of the week last time as well. It is not surprising though, as he has come into his own recently after finding it hard initially to settle into life in the Premier League. Admittedly, this display was not as assured as last week, but without him, West Ham may have been resigned to a defeat. His hunger for goals is just what the Hammers need, as it will only take some of weight off Marko Arnautovic’s shoulders. The Austrian has been baring the burden of scoring of late, but now that Anderson has found a taste for goal, that now should be a thing of the past. The West Ham star is starting to hit his stride, and fans will no doubt have their fingers crossed that he maintains his form after the international break.
