Manuel Pellegrini can get the best out of West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere if he listen to his latest remarks about his England career.

The 26-year-old midfielder has struggled in his first four outings for the Hammers and is currently rooted to the sidelines unable to impress anyone.

However upon his return Pellegrini can fix the faltering player with ease as Wilshere’s latest remarks show what role he enjoyed and excelled in when playing for England.

“I always enjoy playing for England, I was never scared,” admitted Wilshere in an interview with the Daily Mirror.

“I especially enjoyed it under (Roy) Hodgson, with me in that deeper role.

“I could control the game.

“That was my best as an England player. I think a bit of confidence and you will see players express themselves more.”

So far this season, it’s been unclear what Wilshere’s role was in the Hammers’ team as at times he would sit deep and then at other times during games, he seemed to be set-up to be the attacking threat in midfield.

Yet it’s clear based on his remarks and his statistics that ensuring he plays a deeper role for the Hammers will see him able to shine for his latest club.

Wilshere only has eight Premier League goals and 20 Premier League assists to his name despite playing in the league 170 times, so it’s not like he is a proven attacking threat in this division.

Given that the 26-year-old has openly admitted that he felt he could control the game when playing a deeper role and actually enjoying doing it, then it’s clear that this is how Pellegrini can get the best out of him.

There the faltering Wilshere can be fixed by Pellegrini as long the manager hears this honest admission about his England career.
