James Corden implored Leicester City attacker Jamie Vardy to miss his side’s Saturday clash with West Ham at the King Power Stadium.

The celebrity Hammers fan took to his Twitter to politely ask the key Foxes player to sit the game out after the forward provided an update on his availability after being subbed before the end of his side’s encounter with Arsenal on Monday.

Corden didn’t have to wait long for Vardy to respond as the Foxes forward quickly tweeted back several laughing emojis at the Hammers fan.

OPINION

Corden was a little cheeky with his tweet after Vardy revealed he was ready to get back amongst the action by featuring against the Hammers on Saturday. While the TV personality didn’t get the response he clearly wanted, he shouldn’t worry as Manuel Pellegrini’s side are capable of stopping Vardy from having it all his own way. Hammers centre-back Issa Diop impressed against Tottenham on Saturday, despite his side losing 1-0, as he kept Harry Kane very quiet. Given that the 21-year-old defender was able to stop Kane from having a field day, there’s no reason he should be able to stop Vardy getting on the scoresheet if he ends up featuring. Given Vardy’s original tweet it seems Pellegrini should be preparing his side to face the lethal finisher as it seems his early exit in the 3-1 defeat to the Gunners, isn’t going to cause him to miss out playing this weekend.
