West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere is destined for irrelevancy at the club as Manuel Pellegrini would have worked out his winning formula by the time he is fit enough to be considered.

Reliable Hammers insider EXWHUemployee, via The West Ham Way podcast, shared that the expected time frame for the 26-year-old to return from injury should see him available for selection in four or five weeks.

“Wilshere is about four or five weeks away from coming back so we are short in that central midfield are there,” said the insider on The West Ham Way podcast (Show 106 at 58:18).

Given that this means Wilshere will miss the entirety of the Hammers’ October schedule then Pellegrini will learn how to cope without him and this will lead to him being irrelevant.

This is especially likely to happen, as since the 26-year-old has been unavailable the Hammers have excelled without him already with Declan Rice, Pedro Obiang and Mark Noble looking like the right trio to play in midfield.

Rice and Noble in particular have started to show signs that their understanding has improved and this means Pellegrini will not want to force Wilshere back in to his team and ruin a good thing.

The Hammers manager is also likely to have this opinion as the central midfielder, who joined the club in the summer, struggled to impress before predictably getting injured.

Wilshere played four times in the Premier League this season and only in his outing against Bournemouth did he show any positive signs that he was a player capable of aiding the Hammers’ cause.

The 26-year-old is also not worth banking on returning, given that his proven injury record suggests it might not be long before he’s in the medical room again.

Therefore given all the facts and due to Wilshere not reportedly returning until November at the earliest then the midfielder is destined to be irrelevant as the Hammers have already shown signs they don’t need him.
