West Ham United have tabled a final offer to midfielder Declan Rice after a period of talks, according to Claret and Hugh.
The insider – who are a reliable source of news on the Hammers – have revealed that the Hammers have tabled an offer to the 19-year-old which will bring his earnings up to £21,000 per week.
Alongside this, he could be in line to receive an additional £20,000 for every Premier League start, £10,000 if he makes a cameo from the bench, and £5,000 if he fails to make an appearance as a substitute.
The enforcer – who has made five Premier League starts this season – also has the offer of a £5,000 incentive for every 15 starts for the Irons, but if his representatives do not accept what has been offered, then Rice will remain on his current wage of £2,500 per week.
This is a rather reasonable offer made by West Ham, which could see him earn around £40,000 per week. His representatives must accept this offer, as he is not going to get a better one at his age. Seeming as he is not going to be dropped by Manuel Pellegrini any time soon, Rice could be set for a massive win fall with this offer. Earning around £40,000 a week at his age is impressive in itself and Rice is in a position where he would be foolish to turn it down now. His form is only going to get better and better as the season progresses so there is no doubt that the Hammers will try and convince him to stay next year with an improved deal. Nevertheless, the Irons have finally recognised that they must keep hold of one of their prized assets – and they may have finally done it with a rather attractive offer.
