West Ham United registered another point on the board when they managed to grind out a 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Some fans may regard the stalemate as a good result against the Blues, and there will be some undoubtedly wondering what could have been if Andriy Yarmolenko buried his header in the 78th minute.

However, there is one thing that the supporters can be positive about – and that is the latest injury update on striker Marko Arnautovic.

Club insider Claret and Hugh – who are a reliable source of news on the Hammers – have reported that the Irons’ backroom staff are confident that their star forward will be able to feature in their next clash with Manchester United after he ruled himself out of Sunday’s fixture.

This exciting update will make boss Manuel Pellegrini breathe easy, as it was obvious that West Ham missed the 6ft 4in [Transfermarkt] ace’s presence on the pitch after a number of spurned opportunities.

Even though they managed to keep Chelsea at bay – which is impressive considering that they have the likes of Eden Hazard in their side – the Hammers lacked any sort of clinical finishing that could have secured them all three points at the London Stadium.

Michail Antonio should have done better, especially with his close range shot, which he missed – and even Andriy Yarmolenko failed to hit the target later on in the game.

Arnautovic is the type of player that would have buried those opportunities, which he has already demonstrated that he can do this season with three goals to his name.

This is why Pellegrini and the team will be delighted that the 29-year-old is more than likely to be fit to face the Red Devils at the weekend – as they will need a talisman like him to gain a good result against Jose Mourinho’s men.
