Neil Mellor heaped praise on West Ham attacker Felipe Anderson ahead of him facing Manchester United on Saturday.

The Sky Sports pundit, regularly seen providing match updates on Sky Sports News, shared that the 5ft 8in tall winger (Source: Transfermarkt) was an exciting player and capable of producing that little bit of magic which is needed in the final third.

Mellor, while praising Anderson, also shared his appreciation for the talents of Marko Arnautovic and Andriy Yarmolenko as he looked over the Hammers’ starting line-up for their clash with Jose Mourinho’s side.

“There’s been a lot of changes, new manager, lot of new players coming in, it’s taken a while to adjust and settle to how things want to be played,” said the Sky pundit on Sky Sports News (Saturday 29th September 11:34am).

“Exciting players, Arnautovic we know about but Anderson is one that really excites me, Yarmolenko on the other side who is obviously a talented player.

“But Anderson looks like he has got that vision, awareness to create that little bit of magic in the final third and I think the West Ham fans will really enjoy watching him this season.

“But they will want their best players fit and available which they do have today.”

OPINION

Mellor is covering the Hammers’ clash with Manchester United for Sky Sports so hopefully he has played a blinder by highlighting Anderson ahead of the game, for the sake of Manuel Pellegrini’s side. The Hammers face a tough test when they host Man United at the London Stadium but given all the drama that seems to be going on at their Premier League rivals then maybe there is chance of snatching a shock victory. Whether Anderson is the player capable of doing that, remains to be seen. The winger has gradually improved and started to shine in his appearances for the Hammers after a slow start but it will be a lot to ask of him, to be able to weave his magic and get the better of Man United. All of the Hammers players need to be at their best in order to get victory on Saturday as Man United will be looking to get back to winning ways after crashing out of the EFL Cup.
