Many West Ham fans on social media heavily criticised defender Aaron Cresswell for his performance during his side’s 1-0 loss to Wolves on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was making his first Premier League appearance of the season against Wolves after only previously featuring for the Hammers in their 3-1 EFL Cup win over AFC Wimbledon.
However Cresswell’s latest display was not appreciated by supporters with one tweeting that he was one of the club’s worst players as he couldn’t defend or attack.
Forever West Ham has rounded up some of the best tweets below about the left-back’s display v Wolves:

Cresswell heavily exposed and basically gave up the chase as Wolves have a good chance.
This is going well lads.#whufc #westham #COYI

He’s one of our worst players imo, no end product and can’t defend

Sell him January and get a left back to cover Arthur

Like a lot of others, didn’t do what we know he can. We got slaughtered down the wings, but that had lots to do with what had not been done further up the pitch.

OPINION
Cresswell really failed to give Manuel Pellegrini food for thought when it comes to the position of left-back as the defender was woeful against Wolves. The experienced 28-year-old was all over the place and his attempts to stop pacey Wolves winger Adama Traore bursting down the wing were pitiful. As one fan rightly stated Cresswell’s attempt to take down the Wolves attacker at one point was disgraceful as instead of battling to keep up with him, he tried to lazily take him down by sticking out a leg. Traore ended up scoring the match-winning goal in the 93rd minute for his side and it’s more a surprise the Hammers managed to keep him at bay for that long, especially considering how Cresswell was playing. The left-back really needs to buck up his ideas if he is going to continue playing regularly for Pellegrini’s side this season as based on his display on Saturday than he should be nowhere near the first-team set-up.
