West Ham United have not made any fresh offers of a new contract for midfielder Declan Rice despite being confident that he will put pen to paper, according to exWHUemployee.
The club insider – who is known as a reliable source of news on the Hammers – revealed during a Twitter exchange that the Irons are confident that the 19-year-old enforcer will pen a new deal at the London Stadium, but have not made any offers recently to the youngster.

The fan asked about a report from Sky Sports that stated that they were hopeful of Rice agreeing to a new deal, as his current one only has a year left to run.
OPINION
West Ham will certainly be hoping that Rice does agree to an improved contract offer, but it seems bizarre that they have not tabled one yet despite being confident that he will sign. They will need to act soon, as he does not have long left on his current deal – something which they seem to have forgotten. There is one thing being confident, but the fact that nothing has really materialised is rather disappointing. They should be doing everything to ensure that Rice stays on their books, as he has shown recently that he is capable of facing quality opposition on a regular basis. Thanks to him, the midfield has gained more energy, and do not look as tired – and this is a quality that is bound to attract some top teams. West Ham must ensure that they table an offer soon, as there is hardly no one more deserving of being recognised for their efforts.
