West Ham must save their money this summer by poaching Watford’s reported plan to loan Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer.

According to Sport the Hammers’ Premier League rivals, the Hornets, are currently negotiating a deal with Barcelona for their 24-year-old forward which would see him join them on an initial two-year loan deal.

The football outlet go on to reveal that the Hornets would be forced to buy Alcacer outright when his loan deal expires in 2020 but would avoid paying a high price for him this summer if a deal goes through.

It is believed that the loan fees for both seasons would be deducted from Alcacer’s final price and that the Hornets are simply waiting to see if the player is keen to join them.

Manuel Pellegrini is in the market for a new forward, as reported by Claret & Hugh, even though his summer transfer kitty is depleted following all the new recruits that have arrived in recent weeks.

The Daily Mirror has since shared that the Hammers boss has his eye on signing Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez and is playing a clear-out in order to raise funds to secure the services of the 21-year-old valued at £35million.

While Pellegrini may be able to make enough from selling some of his fringe players to make a worthwhile offer for Gomez, it would be much easier to target Alcacer.

The 24-year-old will be available at a much lower price as it seems according to Sport’s report Barcelona are likely to make £26.7million from their potential deal with Watford once it’s completed in 2020.

The current Barcelona forward who earns £90,000-a-week at the Nou Camp (Source: Total Sportek) would be a worthwhile signing for Pellegrini to make.

Alcacer has scored 43 goals in 151 La Liga appearances across his time at Barcelona and Valencia so he has previously proven that he has an eye for goal.

Also the forward is able to hold onto the ball and distribute it successfully through his sublime passing ability so his presence on the pitch helps improve his teammates’ attacking threat.

Therefore the Hammers must save some money this summer after spending big by poaching Watford’s plan to loan Alcacer as he would be able to meet Pellegrini’s need for a new forward.
