OPINION
Given the rest of the fixtures in the second round of the league cup then the Hammers’ clash with AFC Wimbledon is surely set to be the tie of the round. Hopefully Manuel Pellegrini’s side are up for a short away trip to the League One side and avoid suffering an upset. Given that the Hammers have a fairly big squad following the big summer spend, hopefully the club will be able to mount a serious cup run this summer. Based on the tweets from fans about facing Wimbledon, Hammers supporters are clearly keen to do well in the League Cup this season and are confident that their side will have no problem against lower-ranked opposition. However it does seem that a section of fans will be eagerly wishing Millwall and themselves to progress to the third round in order to face each other in the competition as some are really keen to see the Hammers play them.
