The conclusion of the search for a defensive midfielder in this transfer window would finally complete the puzzle that West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has been completing this summer.

The Hammers must turn their attention to Ignacio Camacho, who is a defensive midfielder for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

The Guardian have reported that the club have contacted the Germans about the availability of their 5’10” (source: Transfermarkt) enforcer, who is supposedly keen to link up with his former manager at Malaga.

They must advance on their initial interest of the midfielder imminently and make a swoop for his services before the conclusion of the window.

The Irons are in need of defensive midfielder to finally complete their triumphant summer of spending, and Camacho appears to be the perfect fit for Pellegrini’s side.

The 28-year-old is a largely under-rated player, and not too many would have heard of his name before unless they follow the Bundesliga intently.

He may not have the impressive goal tally or have a high number of assists to call upon, but he is a hardworker who would be the rock in any team’s midfield.

A mid-table team like West Ham would be vastly improved with Camacho’s presence, and he would link-up excellently with new signing Jack Wilshere in the middle of the park.

Their back-line is relatively young and will need the stable cover as they find their steps in the Premier League, and the Spaniard’s ability to track back and cover will not only benefit them, but it will also allow the more creative players in the pack to go forward.

There is not much time left in this transfer window, but Pellegrini must make the most of it by plotting a reunion with one of his former players.
