Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news, with many seemingly happy to see the midfield enforcer leave after four years of service.
Forever West Ham have rounded up some of the best tweets:
Not sad to see Kouyate leaving, more sad about the way his career went for us. He was an absolute powerhouse for 2 years before he became lazy and lost the ability to even pass a ball to a teammate.

Something has gone wrong! Technically, he’s not powerful, bit like Antonio, so he needs to be working 100% every match, which he just isn’t doing! Time is right to move on!

I wont be sad to see Kouyate leave but it better not be for pennies. he provides versatile depth. CB RB CDM CM. It will be nice to have one less player leave in the middle of the season for AFCON though.

Despite being one of Kouyate's biggest critics I will actually strangely miss him however the simple fact is he can't pass more than 5 yards, can't tackle, can't shoot and can't cross. He is a hindrance when played deeper and not enough of a playmaker to play further forward.

OPINION
This section of West Ham fans seem to be ecstatic at the thought of Kouyate leaving the club, and that seems to be the view of the majority on Twitter at the moment. There are those who say they will be sad to see him leave, but the overwhelming feeling is that supporters will not miss the Senegal international. That seems a bit harsh in all honesty, with the 28-year-old having given the club four years of good service. Granted, his form in the past two seasons has been hit-and-miss, but he is undoubtedly a solid player who will improve Palace’s squad. West Ham fans better now hope their joy doesn’t come back to bite them, with Palace also looking to climb the table next season.
