West Ham are to take imminent action to appease Manuel Pellegrini after he has been left unimpressed by the facilities at Rush Green, according to the Daily Mail.

The national newspaper claim that the Hammers are to carry out an urgent upgrade on their Rush Green training centre as the gym area isn’t even big enough to accommodate the current first-team squad.

The Daily Mail report that Pellegrini’s predecessor David Moyes also faced issues regarding the current state of Rush Green as the pitches were unable to be used during the cold snap that occurred last winter.

It is also believed that Pellegrini will demand more privacy than Moyes received as the Scottish manager was previously astonished to discover that he had to share a changing room with 14 coaches and backroom staff.

OPINION

It seems Pellegrini has a problem with Rush Green and that the Hammers are wasting no time to fix the issues that have rightfully left the manager unimpressed. The fact the Mail’s report claims Astroturf needed to be laid in a corridor outside of the gym area so there was enough room for all the players to workout borders on being laughable. It’s no wonder that Pellegrini was left unimpressed as like the report states the experienced manager likes to involve the club’s U-23 players where he can. If he can’t fit all the first-team squad into the current gym, there is clearly not going to be enough room to have additional players from the club’s youth squads involved in gym sessions as well. However it seems the London club are clearly keen to keep Pellegrini happy as they’re are set to carry out urgent work to fix Rush Green’s issues that have left their new boss far from happy.
