West Ham must grab themselves a bargain this summer by hijacking Watford and Burnley’s pursuit of Zamalek midfielder Tarek Hamed.

The Hammers may not be afraid to splash the cash in the current window shown by the fact that they’re willing to pay £41million to sign Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson, as reported by The Sun, but no club should turn their nose up at a bargain.

According to the Watford Observer  the Hornets and the Clarets are both expressing an interest in Hamed who is available to be purchased by an English club for just £1.5million due to a clause in his contract.

The local newspaper claim that the 29-year-old defensive midfielder wishes to play in England and that he is currently in a stand-off with his current club Zamalek.

The Egyptian side are eager to sell their midfielder for a higher price with Fenerbahce having made a bid but Hamed’s desire to move to England and the clause in his contract has caused their hands to be tied.

The Hammers should look to snap up Hamed ahead of their PL rivals this summer as he would bolster Manuel Pellegrini’s midfield options and add a bit of bite to the club’s midfield in order to back up its bark.

The 29-year-old may have only ever played his football in Egypt’s top-flight but he showcased his ability to play at a higher-level by doing well in his three appearances at the World Cup.

Hamed is a defensive midfielder who is strong in the tackle, loves the physical side of the game and is always determined to win the midfield battle for his side.

The midfielder was spotted countless times during the World Cup chasing down every ball in midfield for Egypt in order to try and help his nation to do as well as they possibly could.

Last season the Hammers’ midfield look desperately in need of signing energetic midfielders and given that Hamed would fit the bill as well as be available for a cheap price then Pellegrini should sign him up immediately.
