Some West Ham fans reacted on social media to seeing Andriy Yarmolenko in action for the first time for the club against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was making his Hammers debut just four days after completing his £17.5million move to the club from Borussia Dortmund, as reported by the Daily Mail, and supporters were generally impressed with what they saw.
When delivering their verdict on Yarmolenko’s first display for the club, one fan on Twitter stated that the winger was potentially on course to be a fan favourite.
Forever West Ham has rounded up a selection of tweets by some Hammers fans about Yarmolenko’s debut in pre-season for Wycombe:

I said that exact thing after today’s fixture! I think Yarm, Arnie, and Anderson will be battling for that. Wilshere a def plus but for goalscoring one of those 3

OPINION
Yarmolenko may have only played the first-half of the 1-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday but fans clearly saw enough to be convinced of his talents. The 28-year-old winger did look a very promising attacking threat during the game’s early stages and was unlucky not to score. Yarmolenko saw a headed effect hit the crossbar when the ball was whipped in from a corner and if he can continue to be a threat in front of goal when the proper season starts then it’s easy to see that fans will soon be singing his name. While the 28-year-old would have preferred to score on his debut rather than just go close, he can rest assured that supporters were very pleased with the glimpses of his talent that they did see.
