Some West Ham supporters on social media reacted to Atalanta submitting an offer for midfielder Pedro Obiang to share that they weren’t impressed by it.

Bergamo Corriere Della Sera reported on Tuesday that the Italian club had offered to pay £887,752 (1million euros) to take the 6ft 1in tall (Source: Transfermarkt) 26-year-old on loan with a view to signing the midfielder permanently for £7.9million (9million euros) at a later date.

The news of Atalanta’s bid caused several Hammers fans to take to Twitter in order to claim that it was way to low with one supporter saying suggesting that Obiang should cost in the region of £20million.

Forever West Ham has gathered a handful of tweets by a selection of Hammers’ supporters about Atalanta’s reported offer for Obiang:

OPINION

Clearly this offer is not good enough as far as Hammers supporters are concerned and hopefully the club swiftly reject it. Obiang saw his 2017/18 campaign wrecked by a knee injury but that shouldn’t have caused his value in the current transfer market to dip so low. While one fan claims a fee of £20million is needed to tear Obiang away from the London Stadium, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was sold for in the region of £15million. Hopefully the 26-year-old ends up staying at the club instead of departing as the central midfielder has enough talent to play a part in Manuel Pellegrini’s new era if given a chance.
