West Ham have enough firepower in their midfield to blow opponents away as it stands but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t welcome MLS midfielder Miguel Almiron to the club in the near future.

The Sun reported on Friday that the Hammers were in talks with the 24-year-old’s representative over agreeing a possible £10million deal for his services.

The national newspaper claimed that Atlanta United don’t wish to part company with their talented playmaker with their MLS season in fall swing but that they may be open to the idea of selling him in the new year.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have already spent big this summer to drastically overhaul the squad and their only weak point currently looks like being their front line up.

Following the injury to Andy Carroll the Hammers could do with recruiting a new forward who would provide adequate cover in case of an injury crisis.

Therefore it seems the Hammers shouldn’t be rushing to get a deal done for Almiron at this time as they can cope without his arrival this summer.

With Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson on the flanks, and to some degree Jack Wilshere in the centre of the park, the Hammers have enough firepower as well as creative knowledge to see their midfield generate plenty of goals for their side.

Almiron’s main attributes, his dribbling, passing and shooting ability, see the main benefit of having him in a team aid a club’s ability to score goals from their midfield.

In fact the 24-year-old has taken the MLS by storm so far this year as he has been involved in 19 of his side’s goals as he has scored eight while assisting 11.

It’s easy to see that he is talented player who could light up the London Stadium and boost the club’s firepower, yet with Atlanta wanting to understandably hold on to their star man until at least January then the Hammers should obey their wishes.

The London club do not need to force Atlanta’s hand to get him sooner and the Hammers must advance talks regarding his capture by agreeing to a deal that would only see him arrive in January.

Pellegrini’s side are destined to have more luck in their pursuit of the midfielder by letting him finish the current MLS campaign and would have a fantastic January signing to look forward to, one which could aid the club’s ability to climb higher up the table in the second half of the season.

Given the 24-year-old’s exciting attacking talents he is destined to end up in the Premier League and the Hammers would benefit from having him in their squad.

Therefore while Pellegrini side have enough firepower in their midfield to get by right now, the club should see their talks for Almiron advance in order to get a deal all but done ready for the January window.
