A West Ham Insider has claimed that the possibility of an “exciting” player coming back to the club is on the cards.
ExWHUemployee, a solid source of West Ham news with close links to the club, made the claim on his Twitter account on Thursday night.
He said that it was still unlikely, but that the deal was not dead.

He didn’t name the West Ham player but it’s got fans flocking onto Twitter to speculate, with many fans desperate to know who the player is.
One possibility is Dimitri Payet, although fans are in two minds whether his return would be a good thing or not. It would certainly represent a sensational u-turn from the French attacker.

OPINION:
Many West Ham fans appear ready to forgive and forget what happened after Payer agitated for a move from West Ham. He moved to Marseille for £26million in January 2017 – could he now be on the verge of a sensational return? It seems unlikely and it could be that West Ham fans are barking up the wrong tree. However, stranger things have happened in football and Payet might be tempted by the new players coming in and the chance to play under Manuel Pellegrini. It would be one of the most stunning moves of the summer if it did happen.
