West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has no intention of loaning out young winger Nathan Holland this summer, according to football.london

The reputable football site report that the 20-year-old forward has suitably impressed the manager in pre-season and will now be kept in the first-team squad in 2018/19.

The former Everton winger has long been seen as the next star to come out of the West Ham academy and will get the chance to continue his development in the first-team environment.

OPINION

The 2018/19 season is set to be a huge one for Holland as he finally gets the chance to impress for the Hammers first-team. Holland has been one of the club’s most impressive youth players since joining from Everton in January 2017, and it was expected that he would get a loan spell elsewhere this season before making the move to the first-team. It seems however that Holland’s brilliant form in pre-season so far has suitably convinced Pellegrini of his talents, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on as a first-team player in the Premier League. The path to the starting XI will be tough for Holland, with new recruits Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko looking like nailed-on starters, but he should get the chance to come on as a substitute and show Pellegrini what he’s got. These are exciting times for West Ham fans as we head into the new campaign.
