West Ham are expecting to take a financial hit when it comes to getting forward Jordan Hugill off their books, according to Claret & Hugh.

The dedicated Hammers news site claim that after the club splashed out £10million to sign him from Preston North End, his lack of playing time means they expect to take a loss on their original outlay.

Claret & Hugh report that there have been no firm inquires for Hugill’s services so far in this window even though Alan Nixon who is the football correspondent at The Sun claimed via his Twitter account that QPR had made contact over signing him.

The Hammers boldly splashed out £10million in January 2018, as stated by the BBC, on the forward who had never previously proven himself in the Premier League and the decision to do that simpler gets even more bizarre with each passing day. The 26-year-old has only made three senior appearances for the Hammers and it’s fair to say that it’s hard to know whether he’s good enough to play in England’s top-flight. Hugill has hardly been given a chance to settle in at the club and hasn’t been given enough minutes on the pitch for his ability in the division to be assessed.  The 26-year-old should have no problem finding a Championship club to pursue his signature though as he has previously scored 23 goals in 100 appearances in England’s second-tier. Yet just as Claret & Hugh’s report suggests it’s hard to see any side willing to pay anywhere near £10million for him as there’s a huge question mark over him following his brief, uneventful spell at the London Stadium.
