West Ham have been locked in talks over a deal for Lazio’s Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson, according to Sky’s transfer king Gianluca Di Marzio.

He claims, on his personal website, that negotiations took place between the two clubs during Monday over reaching a deal for the 25-year-old.

He added that a deal should be done around the £27.5million mark (€31million), with £4.5million in bonuses payable when he has made a certain number of appearances.

This follows a tweet from Sky Sports on Monday who claimed the two clubs were in advanced talks.

OPINION

This one has got the feel of a deal that’s going to be done. It seems that once the fee is agreed, the player will become Manuel Pellegrini’s latest recruit. It also looks like David Sullivan might be negotiating his club a very good deal. The Mail had claimed that the player would move in a £38million deal. Now, it looks like the talks between the clubs has seen that drop to around £32million, which would still smash the club’s transfer record. This is definitely the player that West Ham want to see at the London Stadium next season. The midfielder, who can play in the middle or on the wing, would complement Jack Wilshere and represents a huge upgrade for West Ham on last season. In his 177 appearances for the Serie A giants, Anderson has scored 34 goals and registered 42 assists in 177 games. West Ham will benefit massively from his playmaker talents – and his goals – and we’ll look forward to seeing him strut his stuff in the Premier League.
