Lazio winger Felipe Anderson will attempt to push through his protracted move to West Ham when he returns from his summer holidays in Brazil today (Monday), according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian football website report that the 25-year-old is keen on leaving Lazio to join up with the Hammers this summer, and will ask president Claudio Lotito to let him complete the move.

TMW claim that West Ham ‘remain strong’ in their efforts to sign the one-time Brazil international, who has spent five years with the Rome-based club.

Good move for West Ham?

Absolutely.

Anderson has been a player on the Hammers’ radar all summer, and his performances for Lazio last season make it easy to see why the club have set their sights on signing him.

The jet-heeled flyer netted eight goals and provided ten assists in all competitions, and that kind of productivity from the wings will help Manuel Pellegrini transform this West Ham attack.

While no price is mentioned in this report, it looks likely that the club will smash their transfer record and splash out around £35million for the 25-year-old, which is a decent price in today’s market.

Forever West Ham rating: 8.5/10

Likely to happen?

Talks have been ongoing for weeks, and it had looked like the Hammers would get no reward for their efforts to sign the Brazilian.

However, his return and request to leave, which is due today (Monday), will hopefully help push through a move which has been in the offing for a long while.
