Italian giants Inter Milan have contacted West Ham to see if they would be interested in signing their attacker Antonio Candreva, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian news outlet claims that the Seri A outfit have enquired to see if the dazzling attacker is someone that would interest the Hammers, especially as they look to find a replacement for injuries star Manuel Lanzini.

It is understood that the 31-year-old looks set to be departing the San Siro this summer and French club Monaco are interested in his signature.

OPINION

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini needs to try add some extra firepower in the final third ahead of the new campaign, but should stay away from bringing Candreva to the London Stadium. It appears like the Inter right-winger has seen his best days past him and there is a huge chance that he could flop if he moved to the Premier League this summer. He did chip in with eight assists during his 37 appearances for Inter last season, but failed to score and the pace of the English game could be too much for him if he joined now. The 54-time capped Italy international has been a serious goal threat in the past, but based on last campaign he would be of little use to the Hammers. West Ham would be much better served chasing down somebody that is a little bit more proven in the Premier League and also slightly younger.
