West Ham have zero interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to Claret & Hugh.

The trusted Hammers news site stated that due to the club’s experience with Andy Carroll, the club were not interested in signing the Gunners 26-year-old when his contract ends later this month due to his injury record.

Claret & Hugh report that due to him rejecting a new contract worth £100,000k-a-week at Arsenal the Hammers were very unlikely to offer him anywhere near that amount due to his past injury problems.

OPINION

With it consistently being reported throughout this window that the Hammers were keen on Wilshere, for a reliable news source to state there is practically no chance that the club will sign him is a huge twist in the tale. It was reported on Sunday by The Sun that Manuel Pellegrini wished to build his team around the cultured midfielder and that the Hammers were even willing to pay him a ridiculous £130,000-a-week to get his signature. The national newspaper weren’t the only ones to hype up the Hammers’ interest in the midfielder, who currently earns £110,000-a-week at the Emirates (Source: Telegraph), as the Daily Star previously stated that the London side were in pole position to win the race for him. However as Claret & Hugh are a very reliable source when it comes to West Ham, it’s impossible not to believe them especially as the reasons provided make logical sense. Carroll has cost the Hammers more than he is worth due to his injury problems and Wilshere could easily end up being the same. The 26-year-old’s 2017/18 campaign showed what he was capable of when fit but that was a rare season for him as normally he’s stuck on the sidelines.
