Jack Wilshere has dropped a series of social media hints that he could quit Arsenal this summer to join West Ham.

The England international has taken the radical step of removing ‘Arsenal’ from his Twitter and Instagram profiles and has also started following the official Hammers Twitter account as well as captain Mark Noble and former striker Dean Ashton, as cited by the WHUFC Bulletin account.

Wilshere, who has 3.7million followers on Twitter, is out of contract at the Gunners at the end of the month and is yet to agree an extension.

Is Jack about to hit the road? If his Twitter and Instagram profiles are anything to go by, that could soon be the case. Wilshere is a free agent from the end of the month and lengthy discussions to extend his 17-year association with the north Londoners is yet to result in an agreement. It is intriguing that he has removed his beloved ‘Arsenal’ from his profile even though he is contracted to the club for over three more weeks. Has there been a falling-out? Have negotiations hit the point of no return? As for following the official Hammers account and past and present players, that could be a coincidence. Or a hint that a move to east London is in the pipeline. Wilshere follows mainly prominent footballers and football-related accounts on Twitter, including many in the ranks at Arsenal and Bournemouth, where he spent 2016-17 on loan. Certainly, West Ham have been linked with signing Wilshere. There could be an innocent explanation of Wilshere’s social media activity, but something appears to be afoot.
