West Ham United have increased their offer for Lazio winger Felipe Anderson to £35million plus add-ons, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster report that Lazio president Claudio Lotito has demanded £44million for the Brazilian, but is now likely to accept the Hammers’ latest bid as long as it contains a bonus scheme which is easily reachable.

Sky Sports claim that the new bid contains a bonus clause relating to appearances, with talks set to continue in the next few days after several weeks of negotiation.

A source is said to be hopeful of a deal for the jet-heeled flyer, but there is reportedly interest from other sides.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes.

Anderson is an exciting winger with electric pace who will add a new dimension to their attack with his rampaging runs from wide areas.

The 25-year-old has a good eye for goal, having scored eight times for Lazio last season, and that is always a bonus to see wide players chipping in.

The main issue in talks over a deal has been price, and it seems as though West Ham have caved in to the Serie A club’s demands for a larger fee, with Anderson set to become their record signing by quite a big margin.

Likely to happen?

Talks had seemingly hit a huge standstill in the last week or so, with Lazio refusing to lower their demands and West Ham refusing to submit a bigger bid.

That hurdle however seems to have been cleared as the Hammers have upped their bid, with Lazio now said to be likely to accept.

Reports have suggested that personal terms have been agreed for a while now, so once the Serie A club do accept this offer then a deal should go through relatively quickly.
