West Ham United are on the hunt for two new goalkeepers this summer with long-serving star Adrian set to depart after five years, according to Claret and Hugh

The Hammers news website, which is a reliable source for insider information, report that Stoke and England stopper Jack Butland is a target, with Swansea star Lukasz Fabianski set to arrive in the coming days.

Claret and Hugh claim that Manuel Pellegrini always intended to totally revamp his goalkeeping options, with Adrian now looking highly likely to move on this summer.

It is said that suggestions Fabianski would automatically move into the number one slot are wide of the mark.

OPINION

It is hardly surprising to hear that Pellegrini is looking to revamp his goalkeeping department, with neither Adrian or Joe Hart impressing at all in 2017/18. The Spaniard was deposed as the club’s number one by Hart before taking back that spot for a few weeks, with Hart finishing the season between the sticks. Pellegrini will want a dominant number one who he can count on for the full campaign, and by bringing in two new, hungry players, he is more likely to get that. It looks as though Fabianski will be one of Pellegrini’s signings in this area this summer, and the Poland international is certainly a good start. The veteran stopper has vast experience in the Premier League, and has really come into his own during his time at Swansea. Butland looks to be a good alternative, and you would back the England man to make the number one spot his own should the club complete a swoop for him in the coming weeks.
