West Ham United will know more about their progress on a deal to sign Lazio winger Felipe Anderson when his agents hold talks with the Serie A club on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail

The newspaper report that the 25-year-old speed demon is interested in a move to the London Stadium, with West Ham thought to have seen a £33million bid rejected for his services.

The Mail claim that Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini will now wait to hear the outcome of Thursday’s meeting as he tries to attract big talent to the club this summer.

A deal for Anderson would break the club transfer record, currently standing at the £25million purchase of Marko Arnautovic.

Good move for West Ham?

Absolutely.

Anderson is an exciting winger with bags of pace and a decent eye for goal who would sprinkle some star quality onto the West Ham first-team.

The Brazilian was in great form for Lazio this season, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions, and those kind of numbers from the wing would help the Irons climb the table next season.

The only issue in this situation is money, with £33million already representing a massive deal for the club, and any higher than that would mean the deal becomes a massive risk.

Likely to happen?

It looks like the Hammers interest in Anderson is genuine, and the player is now reportedly keen to join up with Pellegrini.

All signs are pointing towards a positive conclusion, but the involvement of super agent Kia Joorabchian may complicate things.

Expect this one to run for a bit, but there are definitely some good signs.
