West Ham are reportedly keen to sign Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Mario Gotze this summer – and fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight.
Sky Sports claim on their website that the Premier League outfit are battling with Everton and Arsenal to sign the 63-times Germany international as well as Euro big hitters Marseille and Valencia.
It is said that £22million could be enough to secure the signature of Gotze, who has two years remaining on his contract at Borussia Dortmund.
The 26-year-old failed to make the Germany World Cup squad after being the hero of the side that triumphed four years ago, when he scored the winner in the final.
The attacking midfielder has come off a disappointing season at Dortmund, where his 32 appearances in all competitions yielded just two goals and seven assists.
Nevertheless, West Ham fans are excited by the prospect of signing such a stellar talent and the comments from fans were mostly positive following Sky’s story.
