West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction at the club’s board after reports their opening bid for Lazio playmaker Felipe Anderson was £17.5million.
Widespread reports last week stated that the Premier League club are working on a deal to land the one-time Brazil international and that it could take huge money to seal a deal.
Sky Sports Italy’s transfer king Gianluca Di Marzio reported an update on his personal website on Saturday night that the Hammers’ opening offer for the wide forward is £17.6million plus add-ons but Lazio are holding out for their £35.2million valuation to be met.
Given the disparity between the West Ham reported bid and the requirements of the Serie A big hitters, it appears a deal is a long way off.
This update has not gone down well with fans of the east London club, who are eager for the board to make dramatic improvements to the team that finished 13th in the recent season.
A section of supporters pointed the finger at co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold, with comments including they are “embarrassing” and there will be “riots” if the club fail to properly strengthen the team this summer.

Let’s pretend we have strong interest for the whole summer, when we get to the end of the window, 1) it’s too late we cant sign him becoz he cant pass the medical 2) we have signed an irrelevant substitute that is 2-3 times cheaper
