West Ham are still in talks with Swansea City over a potential £7million deal to bring goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to the club, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster stated that the Hammers and the Championship side were yet to settle on a schedule of payments on a three-year deal.

Polish news site Przeglad Sportowy reported earlier on Monday that Fabianski had agreed to sign a three-year contract with the Hammers and was set to join the club.

OPINION

If Fabianski doesn’t end this summer as a Hammers player it will be a major shock as all signs are pointing to him arriving at the London Stadium shortly. Sky Sports’ report seems to describe one final hurdle to the deal with it just being the scheduling of how the Hammers stump up the cash being an issue. It’s a bizarre issue standing in the club’s way as the deal is probably going to be one of the cheapest they complete in this window so it’s weird that the scheduling of payments is proving to be a sticking point. However maybe due to the other big-money moves potential happening Manuel Pellegrini’s side are trying to avoid paying as much cash upfront for Fabianski as possible in order to help them get other targets. Hopefully with talks still ongoing the end is in sight as this transfer deal seems to be taking forever to be announced despite looking done for several days at the very least.
