West Ham have agreed the terms of a new contract with Grady Diangana – and fans have taken to Twitter to express their congratulations but urge the club to announce a deal with a more renowned winger.

The Hammers revealed on their official website on Thursday that Diangana, 20, has agreed a two-year extension after making a big impact for the Under-23s in Premier League 2 last season.

He scored three goals and supplied two assists in 17 Premier League 2 games and was rewarded with a place on the substitute’s bench for three matches in the second half of the campaign, including two Premier League fixtures.

West Ham fans are pleased that the academy product, who has been at the club since he was 10, has signed a new deal, with comments including “well done” and “congratulations”.

But a section of supporters are pressing the Londoners to complete the signing of Brazil international Felipe Anderson amid widespread reports that talks are advanced on a deal worth between Β£26million and Β£30million.
