OPINION

It was a huge blow to the Hammers when Argentina tweeted to share that the player had damaged his cruciate ligament. While the majority of supporters aren’t medically trained professional that injury tends to occur a lot in football and always sees a player stuck on the sidelines for a huge amount of time. While the insider is quick to point out that the club haven’t been able to get the full extent of Lanzini’s injury as their medical team haven’t seen it, it’s still a worry that the club fear he will miss a lot of games. The 25-year-old was one of a few positives in the Hammers’ 2017/18 campaign and fans know that the club need him fit in order to push on. Lanzini dazzled in a lot of his 29 appearances and to think that fans will have to wait to see some of his attacking magic is a hard thought to bare. The midfielder currently earns £70,000-a-wk (source: Spotrac) and the only positive to his injury is that the club will have time to tie him down to a new deal.
