Toulouse defender Issa Diop is expected to undergo a West Ham medical in London today, according to Foot Mercato.
The French news site state that the centre-back will join the Hammers unless there is an unexpected change of situation.
L’Equipe previously reported that Manuel Pellegrini’s side had agreed to pay £21million for Diop and that the enforcer was expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the club.

Diop’s signing could arguably become the Hammers’ best bit of summer transfer business when everyone looks back in hindsight. The Premier League side are not paying over the odds for the powerful enforcer despite him being only 21-years-old. Normally a player of his quality and age would see his price inflated to unreasonable amount but £21million could end up proving to be a bargain given the amount that players of a similar nature would cost. It seems that unless Diop fails his medical then it’s all steam ahead with the Hammers completing this deal as they appear to have already ticked every other box in their pursuit of getting him. Hopefully this report is accurate as with Pellegrini looking so close to welcoming Diop to the London Stadium, it would be awful if he didn’t soon rock up at the club. The 21-year-old enforcer made 41 appearances in his 2017/18 campaign and proved to everyone that he was ready to leave Toulouse in order to take the next step in his career.
