Cardiff City will make an imminent move to sign West Ham outcast Robert Snodgrass, according to Wales Online.

The Welsh publication claim the newly-promoted Premier League club are to test the water with an offer for the winger in the coming weeks.

Wales Online report that West Ham value Snodgrass at £12million even though he was loaned out to Aston Villa last season and has been criticised by directors David Sullivan and Karren Brady.

OPINION

West Ham chiefs are unlikely to be too excited by loan proposals for Snodgrass after he re-established his reputation with a fine spell at Villa, where his goals and assists were instrumental in their nearly-but-not-quite play-off bid. The Scot will return to his parent club and has two years remaining on his contract, but it will require all of Manuel Pellegrini’s tact and charm to get him back on board after the foot-in-mouth comments of Sullivan and Brady. Surely, the best outcome for all parties would be for Snodgrass to be sold on a permanent transfer by West Ham. He is certainly a saleable asset and there isn’t a club in the Championship who wouldn’t want him, as well as a few Premier League clubs. Ultimately, it will come down to who can afford his wages. Cardiff certainly have an advantage as they prepare to bank the Premier League TV cash this summer, but a loan deal is unlikely to be to the taste of the West Ham board. Neil Warnock will probably have to try harder than than.
