West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini was instrumental in the 2-0 win over Leicester City at the weekend and he must aspire to reach that level every game next season.

The Hammers supporters have never really questioned the ability of the 25-year-old, but he has been guilty of being inconsistent throughout the campaign alongside a handful of other first-team stars.

He was the peak of his powers in the Premier League against Leicester and provided a constant threat to the Foxes backline.

The attacking midfielder was extremely lively from the first whistle and bossed proceedings for the visitors.

Lanzini showed glimpses of the connection he has with teammate Marko Arnautovic, something that needs to be tapped into more next season.

Meanwhile, he appeared to have a swagger back to his play and the Argentinian creator can be the talisman for David Moyes’ team when he is full of confidence.

Lanzini can look back at this season as a mediocre one by his standards, scoring three goals and supplying nine assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

He certainly has the technical ability to take his game to the next level and should be entering the peak years of his career to do just that.

West Ham don’t have many other plays that are so technically gifted and he needs to step up to be their main source moving forward, something that will turn him into an elite player from a very good player.
