West Ham fans on social media fumed over the mere suggestion that Claudio Ranieri could soon be named the club’s new manager.

Despite the lack of confirmation, Hammers fans fumed at the idea of the former Chelsea and Leicester City boss being sat in the home dugout at the London Stadium anytime soon.

One fan tweeted to call the 66-year-old a budget Rafa Benitez, while another claimed that they would rather Sam Allardyce or David Moyes over Raineri if it came down to it.

The former Leicester City boss, who won the Premier League title with the Foxes, is currently without a club after leaving Nantes on Thursday by mutual consent, according to the BBC, after just one season in charge.

The Hammers are look for a manager to succeed Moyes at the club, after the experienced manager left the club on Wednesday, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
