Javier Hernandez’s latest remarks about his West Ham future are disappointing but Manuel Pellegrini now knows the type of player he is dealing with.

While the current Hammers forward opted to be coy on sticking around at the London Stadium by simply stating “we’ll see” when asked about his future in a recent press conference, as quoted by ITV, the club shouldn’t wait for him to show some loyalty and just move to replace him.

After all Hernandez only managed eight goals, despite playing 33 times, in the 2017/18 season so it’s not like he would be a huge loss if kicked out the door.

Luckily thanks to Pellegrini’s Manchester City connections, which apparently he could utilise in the transfer market if the Daily Mirror are to be believed, there is an obvious talent for him to scoop up.

Manchester City’s 19-year-old forward Lukas Nmecha is currently a prolific force being hidden from the world of football in the Manchester club’s youth system and he would light up the London Stadium with his clinical ability.

The teenager may have only managed to feature twice in the Premier League for the senior team in the recently finished campaign, but his goal scoring talents should be well known by now.

Nmecha managed to grab 15 goals in 11 Premier League 2 appearances in the 2017/18 season and his knack for getting in behind defences by making clever runs would translate to senior football easily.

The teen attacker even grabbed four goals in three outings during Man City’s U-23s exploits in the UEFA Youth League, which demonstrates his potent ability in front of goal.

In fact the Hammers would be doing Man City a favour by taking him on loan for the 2018/19 campaign as it would give him the first-team football needed to continue his promising development.

It’s easy to believe that an enthusiastic Nmecha, who will be desperate to prove himself, would grab way more goals than an unmotivated Hernandez who will probably be staring at the exit door even if he sticks around.

Therefore Pellegrini must pull his Man City strings, which he no doubt has after previously winning the title with them, to sign the prolific force, even it’s just for a season on loan, as he would easily replace Hernandez in the team and probably do better.
