There have been countless new lows of incompetence for David Gold and David Sullivan since they took over as West Ham owners, but the latest developments in east London really take the biscuit.

As reported by The Sun, former manager David Moyes has been left stunned by his treatment at the London Stadium after being offered a deal to stay on as boss just four weeks ago.

The newspaper claim that David Gold and vice-chair Karren Brady had been in favour of a stay for the Scot, who was then unceremoniously dumped as a candidate for the job.

It is said that Moyes was keen to wait until the end of the season before signing the deal, a move which has now come back to bite him with Manuel Pellegrini set to take the reins.

While the decision to move on from Moyes is not necessarily a wrong one from the hierarchy, with the Scot having a poor relationship with the fans, this turn of events is a shameful one if true.

How can the club offer Moyes a new deal four weeks ago, before the Hammers safety was assured, and then take it away after he has guided the club to Premier League safety?

It is the latest in a long line of massively worrying signs at West Ham, with the board somehow achieving levels of incompetence that would never be seen at any other club in the division.

The Hammers are fast becoming the laughing stock of the Premier League, and that is seriously unlikely to change as long as Gold and Sullivan remain in charge.

This development has in turn heaped more pressure onto their shoulders to make the right appointment in the coming days, with one more wrong turn surely to leave fans at the end of their tether with the club.

If there is anything we can take from this latest report it is that no low seems to be beyond these owners, and it would not be a surprise for something else even more embarrassing to emerge in the coming days.
