West Ham are hoping to significantly bolster their side when the transfer window opens at the end of the season, with David Moyes eyeing a number of recruits across a variety of different areas in the squad.
One of those positions is in the attacking third, with the Hammers being overly reliant on club-record signing Marko Arnautovic this summer, and reports have suggested they could partner the Austria international with his former Stoke City team-mate Xherdan Shaqiri.
Shaqiri has a big summer ahead of him, as he eyes success at the World Cup with Switzerland, but has dropped a hint that suggests he will seek an exit from Stoke if the Potters suffer relegation to the Championship.
Quoted by Football.London, he said:
“Everybody knows I am a player who wants to play at the highest level – this is pretty normal. But I still have two years contract with this club. We have to see first what happens here. I am happy here at the moment, and I still have two years contract. We will sit down after the season.”
Stoke currently sit second-bottom in the Premier League, three points from safety with just two games to play.
