West Ham are lining up a move for Leicester City’s Head of Recruitment Eduardo Macia after agreeing terms with Manuel Pellegrini to become their next manager, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Pellegrini has agreed a £7million-a-year deal with the Hammers to become David Moyes’ successor and an announcement should come on Wednesday.

It is understood that the 64-year-old has identified transfer chief Macia as someone that could be the next Head of Recruitment at the London Stadium.

The report details that West Ham hope they can tempt Leicester’s 44-year-old senior man to become part of their new-look staff.

OPINION

Pellegrini’s switch to West Ham appears to be on the verge of completion and the latest report suggest that he has agreed terms with the club. The ex-Manchester City boss has a lot of work to do to get the Hammers competing in the top half of the table and the goal has to be to get European football at their impressive stadium on a regular basis. He is a very experienced manager that should bring in an attacking philosophy and will be able to get the best out of his players. However, adding Leicester’s transfer chief would be a smart move and he could help oversee what should be a busy summer window for West Ham. Macia has previously worked at clubs such as Liverpool and Valencia in the past, while his transfer dealing for Leicester have not turned out too badly in the shape of Harry Maguire and Vicente Iborra.
