West Ham have plenty of work to do in the months ahead, with the Hammers yet to secure their Premier League status for next season and facing a major rebuild when the transfer window opens.

David Moyes is still tipped to be in charge for next season and targets on the continent have already started to be identified, although the east London side can expect to face a major scrap in the market to land key targets.

Sport Witness, citing Portuguese outlet A Bola, state West Ham remain in the four-way tussle to land Benfica’s highly-coveted winger Franco Cervi, with Brighton, Newcastle and Swansea still competing for the player.

Protected by a €45m release-clause, it’s indicated that West Ham scouts will be present once again this weekend to run the rule over 23-year-old Argentina ace in the Lisbon derby against Sporting.

However, Benfica are unlikely to let the talented South American leave for a cheap fee though as he’s proven to be a tremendous asset to the second-placed side this season, scoring four goals and providing 10 assists.
