Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly agreed to takeover as the next West Ham manager and he must look to use one of his many contacts in footballing world when it comes to transfer business.

The Daily Mirror reports that he has agreed a £7million-a-year deal to move to the London Stadium and an official announcement could come on Wednesday.

Pellegrini, 64, will certainly have his work cut out in remoulding the Hammers squad and could particular do with some reinforcements in defence.

West Ham could also do with some extra quality in midfield and that is why Pellegrini should try contact his former employees Manchester City to try land their highly-rated playmaker Phil Foden.

The 17-year-old is one of the best young English talents around and managed to impress during his 10 senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s first team this season.

He would add some extra guile and creativity to the middle of the park at West Ham, where he would surely be given a better chance of more game time to help his development.

Pellegrini should try negotiate a loan deal for the the pocket-sized creator and he has the potential to be the breakout star of the 2018/19 Premier League season.

The 5ft 7in midfielder has shown he is already extremely technically gifted and would help bring a composure in the middle of the park.

There are obviously going to be question marks over whether he can cut it at the London Stadium, but he didn’t look out of place when on the field for the Premier League title winners this year and West Ham need the right blend of youth and experience.
