West Ham United have got the search underway for their next manager with Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca reportedly a leading candidate, and fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news.

As reported by the Mirror, Hammers chairman David Sullivan welcomed the Portuguese boss to his Essex home for a 75-minute meeting on Monday.

The newspaper claim that the talks were positive, with the 45-year-old then heading off to view some property in London in the wake of the productive discussion.

The Mirror report that West Ham will have their work cut out to hire Fonseca, with current employers Shakhtar said to be preparing a lucrative deal to tempt him to stay.

The young Portuguese has managed Shakhtar for the past two seasons, with the club winning the league and cup double in both campaigns.

The 45-year-old led the Ukrainian side to the last-16 of the Champions League this season, where they fell to eventual semi-finalists Roma.

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react to the reports linking the club with Fonseca, with many seemingly excited by the prospect of seeing the Portuguese in the dugout at the London Stadium.
