West Ham United remain embroiled in a row with Leicester City after the board were seated at the back of the directors’ box during their 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, according to The Sun.

The newspaper report that the decision to allow the Hammers directors into the box was seen as a gesture of goodwill, but the ‘cold war’ was reopened when they discovered they were to be seated in rows 11 and 12.

The Sun claim that this seating arrangement has been seen by the Irons as a snub, with a club insider insisting: “Some Leicester fans said it showed a lack of class.”

The feud is said to have begun after West Ham executive Karren Brady revealed that Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha had spent £500,000 on a bottle of wine after the sacking of Claudio Ranieri as Foxes boss.

OPINION

This all seems like much ado about nothing. While it is understandable that Leicester’s directors became unhappy with Brady following her revelation, the feud has now been going on for several months and needs to come to an end. That being said, the Hammers’ comprehensive 2-0 win on Saturday will not have helped matters as Leicester’s fortunes on the pitch continue to dwindle. West Ham’s next port of call will be the future of manager David Moyes, with their Premier League future now assured. Moyes has looked safe from any criticism at several points this season but a poor run of results in recent weeks has led to questions about his future. There are uncertainties about his relationship with the board as well after the Scot questioned the club’s culture of leaks following his well-publicised bust-up with striker Andy Carroll. It will be interesting to see which way negotiations go, with many fans now making themselves clear in wanting Moyes gone.
