New West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini is hunting for two new goalkeepers to bring to the London Stadium this summer, according to The Sun.

The newspaper report that Hammers stopper Adrian is set to quit this summer after five years at the club, with the 31-year-old following Joe Hart out the door.

The Sun claim that Pellegrini is targeting Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero as his first summer signing, with the two forming a close relationship during spells together at Malaga and Manchester City.

It is said that Caballero would be instated as the Irons’ number one next season.

Good move for West Ham?

It will be a shame to see Adrian leave the London Stadium after five years of brilliant service, but in truth, he probably deserves to be playing somewhere he will be the undisputed number one.

A move back to Spain to play in La Liga looks to be the likely option for the 6ft 3in ace [Transfermarkt], and an exit will probably suit all parties as the Hammers look to build upon Pellegrini’s arrival.

His exit will therefore facilitate the need for Pellegrini to bring in two goalkeepers after Hart’s return to Manchester City, and Caballero is an obvious favourite of his.

Apart from the Argentine, it remains a mystery as to who the other recruit would be, but if Caballero is to be named number one, then don’t expect a big name signing.

Forever West Ham rating: 6/10

Likely to happen?

The Sun seem convinced that Adrian is set for a London Stadium exit in the coming weeks, but that is the first we have heard of that.

It would seem to make sense, but Pellegrini will surely want to run the rule over the whole squad before making decisions on any potential exits.

On the Caballero front, you would think that is definitely a doable deal for the Hammers.
